INDICATIONS-

Thetherapy is suggested indiarrhea, dysentery, feverthat is recent in origin such as cold, coughasthma, tumour,urinary tractdisorder anorexia, skin disorders and respiratory disorders, as well as indigestiongoiter, fibroidand many more.

CONTRAINDICATIONS-

Patientswho have kapha dosha lower thannormalshouldn’t undergovammanatherapies.Pregnant women, withoutsnehana karma, agni that is strong(digestive system), person who isunder stress, or hungry or stress, children, an elderly who is weak, weak, has an enlargedstomach, intestinal parasites,larger prostate and othersin such cases vamana karmashould be avoided.

2) VIRECHAN

Virechan (purgation)is the 2nd karmainpanchakarma. It isone of the most widelyused therapy, especially inillnesses caused byaggravation of pitta dosha. The pittadosha is eliminatedin a forceful manner through the anal channel.Doshas are eliminated usingless strain and with less complications whenas compared to vamana karma. Depending on the medicine used,virechan may be of two kinds-
1.) Snigdha virechan- meaning ofthe word “snigdha” isoily. It ismentioned in the context of pitta.isin connection withvata dosha.
2.) Rooksha virechan- itis indicated when pitta isrelated to kapha dosha.

INDICATIONS

Virechancan be givengout, piles, constipation jaundice, liver diseases ascites, splenomegalydysuria and pain in the largein the intestine, diseases of the urogenitalsystem inmale and female and nasal bleeding, etc.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Poor digestive system, diarrhea and dysentery, ulcersin the rectum and emaciatedperson, following excessiveoleation treatment, wounds etcarethe cases wherevirechanshould not be used.

3) BASTI KARMA
